The Lost Genocide: A story of the Herero and Nama Tragedy
A story not often told, the first genocide of the 20th century, a tragedy that took the lives of more than a hundred thousand Namibian civilians. The story begins at the beginning of the colonial era during the “Scramble for Africa” when the German empire claims control over areas in the South West Africa including the two main tribes, the Herero and the Nama. These two tribes live in relative peace, that is until the German intervene.
The story you’re about to listen to has been described as the original model for the Holocaust ( Genocide of the European Jews)
